2. Take note of the battery voltage
displayed. The unit will warn you if the voltage is to high or getting too
low. Press the "M" key to advance. The unit will go through a
short initialization sequence and display Tank?
3. Plug the units fiber optic cable
connector into the keyed optical receptacle in the enclosure box. If your sensor
system is equipped with the optional MDV shutter device, dont forget to open the
shutter.
4. At the Tank? prompt, enter a valid
tank ID# number that has been previously programmed into the unit. If you have not
yet programmed tank(s) into the unit, please read the Programming Tanks section at this
time.
5. Press the "M" key to begin
the measuring process. The display will first indicate Staging, then Measuring,
four (4) audible beeps, then Finishing. After the four beeps and at the Finishing
display message, you could actually disconnect the fiber connection and be on your
way. The unit is actually just doing some internal calculations before it displays
the answer.
NOTE: If sufficient light is not received within 7 seconds, a
"low signal" error message is displayed and the measuring process must be
restarted.
6. The HP/MD defaults to displaying an Outage
reading. After Finishing, the REFLEKS
HP/MD will display Out = XXXX and the abbreviated measuring units (inches, meters,
feet&inches etc.). Press the "M" key again. The display will
read Save to LTM = 1(long-term memory). Press "1" if you wish
to save the reading in LTM or "M" if not. The HP/MD has the ability
to store a series of tank inventories (up to 50), that can be recalled sequentially.
At the end of each inventory, the REFLEKS
HP/MD will ask if you wish to store the inventory reading just taken. See the
section entitled "Recalling Sequentially Stored Tanks" regarding recall of this
information. This function does not affect the features offered under "Memory Recall".
The most previous inventory reading is always stored in memory recall without
regard to your LTM choice.
