PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SAFETY INFORMATION CAREFULLY!

Safety First!

Make certain that the reader unit and associated apparatus are stowed securely and safely when operated in the tank farm environment.  Should the reader unit or cable, or battery become entangled on equipment, a dangerous fall could ensue.

Avoid climbing and/or crossing congested electrical or mechanical areas while carrying the REFLEKS HP/MD unit and associated apparatus.

Do not allow any portion of the external wiring or metal portion of the case to come into contact with a high voltage power source.  Electrical shock could ensue.

Do not operate this unit at the tank site with the wall mounted battery charger attached.

Do not store this unit in areas outside the operating specifications of the unit or where high concentrations of humidity or hazardous chemicals or vapors are present.   Any of these conditions, or combinations thereof, might cause damage to the unit and/or present a danger to the operator.

The fiber optic link between the REFLEKS HP/MD and the fiber optic connection boxes
(Part # MDEC –10) provide an absolute safety barrier between reader unit and tank sensor
(Part #MDS-15,25,40).   Make certain that all fiber optic connection boxes are located outside of and away from any area that may support potentially high concentrations of hazardous vapors, dust and other dangerous materials.  Consult local, state, and federal hazardous materials offices and/or electrical codes for safety recommendations.
